ABOUT ME
Inspiring a lifelong love of music
I am a concert pianist and dedicated piano teacher with over 15 years of experience in both performance and teaching. I work with children, young people and adults, from complete beginners to advanced and diploma level, offering both in-person and online lessons.
I believe that learning the piano is about much more than playing the right notes. It is an opportunity to develop confidence, creativity, concentration and self-expression, while finding a sense of joy and personal fulfilment through music.
Every student is different, so I take a personalised approach to teaching. Lessons are carefully shaped around each student’s abilities, interests and goals — whether that means learning for pleasure, preparing for ABRSM or Trinity examinations, developing performance confidence, entering competitions, or preparing for auditions and specialist music schools.
My students have achieved a 100% pass rate in ABRSM and Trinity graded examinations, as well as prizes and awards in UK and international competitions and festivals. I am equally proud, however, of seeing students grow in confidence, become more independent musicians and develop a genuine love of playing.
A performing pianist
Alongside teaching, I maintain an active career as a pianist. I regularly perform as a soloist and in chamber and vocal collaborations, and have performed at venues including Steinway Hall London. I also spent seven years as a ballet accompanist at Bird College – Conservatoire for Dance and Musical Theatre, working closely with dancers in classes, rehearsals and performances.
My own musical journey began at the age of five. I studied at Northeast Normal University in China before continuing my musical education in the UK, including a Master’s degree at Goldsmiths, University of London and the Artist Diploma programme at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of learning from distinguished musicians including Andrew Zolinsky, Ian Jones, Deniz Arman Gelenbe and Martino Tirimo.
For me, teaching and performing are deeply connected. Performing keeps me curious, inspired and constantly learning — qualities I bring into every lesson.
Music for life
Whether a child is taking their first steps at the piano, a young musician is preparing for an important audition, or an adult simply wants to return to music after many years, my aim is to create a supportive, inspiring and positive environment in which every student can flourish.
I want my students not only to become better pianists, but to become confident, expressive and fulfilled musicians.
Learn. Play. Grow. Shine.
